Support Spindle City Ballet
At the beginning Spindle City Ballet consisted of 2 paid professional dancers and a group of devoted high level amateurs, fast forward 14 years our company now consists of 9 paid professional dancers and still a group of devoted high level amateurs which include as many as 35 children to round out our Nutcracker cast. Currently our Nutcracker production costs $40,000 to mount and perform. As you may not already know, ticket sales only cover approximately 30% of our production costs. Therefore, we need to look to you, our community, to help cover the additional costs to stage such an amazing family performance for everyone to enjoy. The exciting thing about having this in our community is that you don’t need to break the bank to travel to Providence or Boston to see inspiring professional dance. An important decision had been made for this season. Due to the increasing costs associated with producing ballets, The Nutcracker will be our only performance this season. Spindle City Ballet has grown and achieved higher levels of artistic excellence. Therefore, in order to maintain and increase this type of growth, we then need to acquire more professional dancers. This has made a drastic impact on our annual budget and we are making the choice for one quality production vs. our normal season of 4-5 productions. This production and its fundraising events will help us determine our 2009-10 season, with the goal of bringing this holiday favorite, various children’s ballets, contemporary works and educational outreach into our 15th anniversary season. Please consider supporting Spindle City Ballet at one of the personal or corporate levels below. Also, do you have something you would like to donate to the company? We are looking for items such as collectables, tickets to entertainment venues (shows, concerts, sporting events..etc.), furniture…use your imagination! All items would be put up for auction or raffle purposes to directly benefit the ballet company. All proceeds would benefit the Spindle City Ballet which is a non profit 501(c)3 organization.
